Local governments (Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County) are working with the Federal Government (Senator Jackie Rosen) to transfer control of some public lands to local government control. This land could be used by the local government or sold to developers, with the local government keeping the profit.

A second part of this Act would establish massive areas of wilderness and other restricted uses in Northern Washoe County. This designation may non seem valid in many cases and could greatly restrict its usage and access to these areas by many citizens.
